Rainforest Challenge (RFC) dates back to 1997 and is now the most recognized 4×4 off-road event in the world, attended annually by crews from over 30 countries. Rainforest Challenge is the world's third largest motoring event, right after the Baja 1000 and the Dakar Rally.

RFC is also a winner of many awards, including: the most spectacular event in sports tourism in Malaysia, a record book of records in Malaysia for the participation of competitors from the largest number of countries in motorsport competitions. 4 × 4 adventurers meet every year during the monsoon season in a remarkable 10-day event to test their skills.

In 2022, the second Polish edition of this rally will take place. Organized in cooperation with the Creators of RFC, Malaysia will be the largest cross-country event in this part of Europe. The best crews from Poland, but also from abroad, have announced their participation.

The second Polish edition of the Rainforest Challenge will be held in Elbląg and its vicinity on June 7-12, 2022. The location provides convenient road access (express route No. 7 Gdańsk-Kraków) and logistic services for teams by sea (ports in Gdańsk and Gdynia). Elbląg is located 50 km from the airport in Gdańsk.
The routes have been marked out with the highest safety standards and take into account the swamp, water and traverse areas, guaranteeing a variety of struggles full of real challenges for each team.
